What's Happening This Week: The Washington State University rowing team will race the Oregon State Beavers Saturday, May 3, on its home course on the Snake River at Wawawai Landing...racing is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. and will feature races between the third-ranked WSU varsity eight boat and the No. 13 OSU varsity eight as well as second varsity eight, first, second and third varsity four, and first, second and third novice eight match-ups.

Last Season Against the Beavers: Last year the Cougars fell to the Beavers at Dexter Lake...the varsity eight finished the course just seven seconds behind OSU with at time of 7:07.29 while the second varsity eight (7:07.29) lost a race by a three second margin.

WSU Head Coach Jane LaRiviere on Oregon State: "They're tough, they're fit, they're coming off a big win against Washington, and they are definitely a force to be reckoned with. It's going to take a complete race [to defeat them]."

WSU Head Coach Jane LaRiviere on the dual regatta: "We just need to go down there [Wawawai Landing] and execute our race plan. That's all we have to do. We don't have to get caught up in all the things that are impossible to measure. We can't speed them [OSU] up and we can't slow them down. We can only execute what we practice. I'm hoping that we are able to channel the energy from the crowd and family and friends and put together a polished race."
