What's Happening: The Washington State women's basketball team ends the non-conference portion of the 2010-11 schedule at San Diego State, Tuesday, Dec. 21, at 7 p.m. WSU opens Pac-10 play New Year's Eve Day hosting USC at 1 p.m. at Beasley Coliseum.

Series History: San Diego State has won two of the three all-time meetings with WSU. The teams last met, Dec. 11, 2004 at San Diego, a 55-50 Cougars win.

Last Game Recap: The Cougars fell to the Wyoming Cowgirls, 63-43, at Laramie, Wyo., Saturday, Dec. 18. Hana Potter led WSU with 10 points. WSU trailed by six at 27-21 with 3:48 left in the first half, but the Cowgirls closed out the half on a 10-2 run to take a 37-23 at the break. The Cowgirls maintained their double-digit advantage throughout the second half. Wyoming made half of its shots during the opening 20 minutes (15-of-30) and finished the game 24-of-56 (42.9 percent) from the floor. WSU made 19-of-65 attempts (29.2 percent) for the game.

Making Some Noyes: With 22 blocks this season, sophomore Carly Noyes increased her career total in that category to 79, placing her fifth on the school's career list. She is two away from Cassandra Overby (81, 1980-84) for fourth place on the list. Overby accumulated her total over 108 games. Tuesday's game at San Diego State will be Noyes 42nd career game. With a 2.0 blocks per game average, Noyes ranks second in the Pac-10 in that category and her five blocks vs. Portland, Nov. 18 is the second-best single-game performance in the Pac-10 this season.

Cook returns: Junior point guard April Cook made her first start of the season at Wyoming, Dec. 18. After sitting out the Cougars' first four games with a sore back, Cook saw her first action of the season at the Rainbow Wahine Showdown in Hawaii, Nov. 26-28.. In seven games, Cook is averaging 7.4 points a game.

News & Notes: Three Cougars (Sage Romberg, Carly Noyes, Rosetta Adzasu) have started all 11 games...the three true freshman (Hana Potter, Sage Romberg, Brandi Thomas) have started a combined 22 games...Carly Noyes leads the team with a 9.3 points a game average...eight Cougars (Cook, Amojo, Madison, Perkins, Adzasu, Romberg, Noyes Potter) have scored in double-digits in at least one game this season...Rosetta Adzasu's nine assists vs. Nebraska, Nov. 22 is tied with two other players as a Pac-10 game high this season. Adzasu is third in the Pac-10 averaging 4.5 assists a game.
