WSU To Play Three Games And 7-A-Side Tournament In Spring

Pullman, Wash. - The Washington State soccer team will play the University of Idaho at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 9 at Lower Soccer Field in a WSU Mom's Weekend match.

The Cougars will play two more games this spring, taking on Portland and the Mexican Women's National team before hosting the annual 7-A-Side Tournament April 23 and 24.

WSU will play the Portland Pilots April 16 at 3 p.m. at Merlo Field in the Clive Charles Soccer Complex before taking on Mexico's Women's National Team Sunday, April 17 at 1 p.m.

The Cougars wrap up their spring season hosting the seventh annual 7-A-Side Classic. The tournament features over 40 teams, including Div. I teams as well as top northwest club teams. Games are 30 minutes long, played on a 65-by-50 yard field and each team has seven players on the field.

The Pilots were the only ranked team to beat the Cougars in 2004, handing WSU a 2-0 loss at Lower Soccer Field. They finished the 2004 season 20-4, losing to eventual National Champions Notre Dame on the road in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament.
