SOLVANG, Calif. -- After an impressive second day of play the Washington State University Men's Golf Team completed the OGIO Pacific Coast Intercollegiate, played on the par-72, 6,830 yard Alisal River Golf Course, with a sixth place finish.

As a team the Cougars played the best third round of the tournament, shooting a 276. The Cougars' third round score was one stroke better than first place finisher Cal Poly.

Redshirt senior Jordan Madison had another solid day of play, shooting a third round score of 66, marking a new season low and tying with Idaho's Russell Grove for the lowest third round score of the tournament. Madison completed the tournament with a score of 204 (-12) and a third place finish.

Racking up his second top-25 finish of the season was freshman Austin Hurt, who finished the competition in 12th place. Hurt shot a 67 in the final round of play, giving him a final score of 208 (-8) and a new season low round score. Senior Chris Collins shot a 70 in the third round which led him to a final score of 213 (-3) and a tie for 33rd.

Freshman Nick Grigsby finished the day with a score of 230 (+14), while junior Jordan Mason rebounded from a sore ankle to shoot a 73 in the third round. Mason did not complete Monday's second round of play due to a sore ankle which he injured back on March 6.
