PULLMAN, Wash. - The Women's Basketball Coaches Association announced that Washington State Women's Basketball Head Coach June Daugherty has been named to the State Farm Coaches' All-America selection committee.
The All-America accolades are a part of the WBCA Awards Program, which was developed in 1981 to recognize and honor the efforts and achievements of individuals that are working to enhance the profession of coaching and playing women's basketball.
"I am honored to have been chosen to serve on the State Farm All-America selection committee for the WBCA," Daugherty said. "This will be a wonderful opportunity to represent WSU on the national level and be part of the most prestigious honor presented to the finest collegiate women's basketball players in the country."
Nomination to the committee occurs at the WBCA National Convention held in conjunction with the Final Four and is then voted upon by members via an online ballot. Each collegiate division has its own committee comprised of WBCA member coaches, with each committee member serving a three-year term. Daugherty's term will run through August 2010.
