SAN DIEGO - Washington State University completed the second day of races Sunday at the San Diego Crew Classic. The varsity eight finished sixth and the novice eight finished third.

The Cougar varsity eight finished with a time of 6:52.25, placing sixth behind three Pacific-10 schools and Michigan, who captured the Jessop-Whittier Cup with a time of 6:43.2.

Varsity and novice eight executed better today than yesterday," said WSU head coach Jane LaRiviere. "We have lots of work to do, but I'm pleased with our performance and optimistic about where we are at."
