Men's Golf Travels to Oregon for Duck Invitational

What's Happening This Week: The Washington State University men's golf team travels to Creswell, Ore., for the Duck Invitational March 24-25...the 54-hole tournament will be played at the par-72, 7,039-yard Emerald Valley Golf Club, hosted by the University of Oregon...the first 36 holes will begin Monday with a shotgun start at 8 a.m....the final 18 holes begins Tuesday...complete results from each round will be available at www.wsucougars.com.

The Field: The 11-team field pairs Washington State with competition from the Pacific-10 Conference including rivals No. 41 Oregon State, Oregon and Washington...the Cougars also face No. 35 San Diego State, No. 36 Arkansas, UC Davis, Idaho, Northern Colorado, Pacific and Portland (Rankings according to Golfweek).

Traveling for the Cougars: Five Cougars will be traveling to Oregon to take a swing at victory...the Cougar contingent includes senior Jordan Mason, sophomores Nick Grigsby and Kevin Tucker and freshmen Xavier Dailly and Nick Ellis.

Last Time at the Duck Invitational: In 2007 the Cougars battled through rough weather conditions and a difficult field at the par-72, 7,033-yard Eugene Country Club...the men combined for a total score of 907 and finished in 11th place...the men were led by Chris Collins who finished tied for 38th...Collins began the tournament in the top 25 and carded a final score of 227...Grigsby finished close behind with a total score of 229...Austin Hurt and Tucker each finished with scores of 230...Jordan Madison ended the tournament with a total of 232 and Max Reinland ended with 233 to round out the Cougar contingent.

Last Time Out: The Cougars continued their success in the spring season as Tucker finished in the top 25 and led the men to a 10th place finish at the Border Olympics March 14-15, hosted by Houston...Tucker fired a 5-over par 221 to finish in a tie for 18th...Tucker claimed his fourth top 25 of the season and sixth of his career...Ellis narrowly missed placing in the top 25 after carding a three-round total of 224 (+8)...Mason ended the tournament with a score of 227, Grigsby shot 232 and Dailly posted a 238 to round out the Cougar scorers.
