PULLMAN, Wash. - Mike Simonson will join the Washington State University men's basketball staff as video assistant, head coach Ken Bone announced Friday.

"We are excited to have Mike join our staff," Bone said. "He's a quality guy and has been a great asset to our program my two years here."

At WSU Simonson will be responsible for all aspects of video, including filming practices and games, film exchange and producing team videos, among other duties.

Simonson spent the last four seasons as a student manager at Washington State and the last three as one of two head managers. His duties with the Cougars included video coordination, film exchange, as well as day-to-day tasks around the office, at practice and during games. He has also worked at WSU's summer basketball camps.

A native of Edmonds, Wash., Simonson received his bachelor of arts in social sciences with an emphasis on history from Washington State in the spring of 2011. He graduated from Meadowdale High School in 2006, where he played basketball, football and golf.
