PULLMAN, Wash. -- - Washington State University head football coach Mike Price announced today the Cougars had secured their most important recruit of the season - his first grandchild.

Devin James Fry, the newborn son of Angie (Price) and Jim Fry, checked in at a Spokane hospital Sunday at five pounds, nine ounces, and 19 inches long.

"Yesterday (Saturday) seemed like it was one of the worst days of my life and less than 24 hours later it was one of the best days of my life," Mike Price said from Spokane. "It is the best Apple Cup blues remedy a guy could ever have. And we finally recruited a kicker. He came out kicking."

In his weekly press conference, Price said he had not yet looked at any video or even thought about Saturday's 51-3 loss to Washington in the annual Apple Cup battle.

"I have not thought about the game, I have not looked at the game. I have just been recruiting to get this guy and we got a big recruit today so we are pretty excited," Price commented.
