What's Happening This Week: The Washington State University women's varsity eight returns to the Palouse from Boston...Cougars take on the Gonzaga Bulldogs Saturday, Oct. 28...this will mark the second week in a row the rest of the rowing team has competed against Gonzaga...racing will start at 10 a.m. on a 5000 meter course.

Head of the Snake: The inaugural race took place three years ago Friday, Oct. 31, 2003...WSU's varsity eight has outstroked Gonzaga's varsity eight crew each of the past three years and looks to maintain its undefeated record.

Last Week: The varsity eight traveled to Boston to compete in the 42nd Head of the Charles Regatta Sunday, Oct. 22nd...Cougars placed 10th in a field of 46 and eighth among collegiate crews...second varsity eight crew had the fastest time on the water Saturday, Oct. 21 against Gonzaga.

On Tap for the Cougars: WSU will travel to the West side of the state Sunday, Nov. 12, to compete in the 25th Annual Head of the Lake Regatta...last year both the varsity eight and third varsity eight "A" placed first...varsity eight crew won a race that featured four other Pacific-10 schools.

Directions to the WSU Boathouse at Wawawai Landing: From Highway 195 (north or south), turn west on Wawawai Road at the blinking yellow light...travel on Wawawai Road for 10 miles, the road will end at a stop sign...turn right and drive six miles down into the canyon...go past the county park on the right and over the railroad tracks...the boathouse is a cinderblock building on the right...park on the side of the road or in the parking lot south of the boathouse.
