WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Washington State women's rowing had 22 student-athletes selected as Pac-10 All-Academic Rowing Team members, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced Tuesday.
For the second consecutive season, WSU's 22 combined selections and 10 first team honors were the most of any Pac-10 school.
Of the 10 Cougars on the first team, six have been there before. Kasia Bloch and Suzanne Vogt now have three total first team awards, while Becca Gibson, Carey Homan, Casey Long and Catherine Watt have now been selected twice. It is the premiere first team selections for Laura Griffin, Michelle Morris, Vanessa Serratore and Robyn Stephenson.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average and either be a starter or significant substitute. Freshmen are not eligible for the award.
