Video Assistant

Washington State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is accepting applications for the position of Video Assistant (TV/Video Equipment Operator 2). The Video Assistant position is responsible for assisting in all areas of the WSU Sports Video Department. These include, but are not limited to: coverage and posting on wsucougars.com of all press conferences, coverage of all home-events, the setup and operation of webcasting equipment for non-TV events, editing and posting to wsucougars.com and internal FTP event highlights/re-caps, editing and posting of social media event promotions and special features. The creation of special projects as directed. Assist with the in-house video productions as directed. Assist with the maintenance and support of the Sports Video archive.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, and one year of experience with sports video production, or related action oriented video production, OR equivalent education and experience. Work experience that demonstrates knowledge of new multimedia technologies including networked computer editing. Work experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully operate and manage remote cameras, scheduling, multimedia equipment, and non-linear editing systems.

Preferred qualifications: One year in an athletic work environment as a videographer/editor. Experience shooting and editing highlight/motivational videos. Experience producing content for social media distribution. Work experience that demonstrates working knowledge of electronic graphic design and use, as well as the use of special visual techniques consistent with industry standards. Experience with remote production, webcast and/or in-house. Master’s degree in Film, Communications, or related field.

Assistant Video Coordinator

Washington State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Video Coordinator (TV/Video Equipment Operator Lead). The Assistant Video Coordinator position will be responsible for assisting the Video Coordinator in all aspects of the WSU Sports Video Department. These aspects include, but are not limited to: Leading, training, and delegating tasks to student employees; weekly video exchange with opponents using Gigabit Courier and Dragonfly exchange programs, as well as other acceptable methods of exchange; creating opponent and self-scout video breakdowns for offense, defense, and special teams using the XOS Digital Thunder editing system; filming/editing practices and games at home and away; working with coaching staff to produce and film clinic videos; archiving and organizing media library; coordinating video setups for special functions including banquets, recruiting weekends, and coaching clinics; responsible for producing highlight videos; producing various videos for banquets, non-revenue sports and promotions when needed.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, and two years of experience with sports video production, or related action oriented video production, OR equivalent education and experience. Work experience that demonstrates knowledge of new multimedia technologies including networked computer editing. Work experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully operate and manage remote cameras, scheduling, multimedia equipment, and non-linear editing systems.

Preferred qualifications: Two years in an athletic work environment as a videographer. Experience shooting and editing highlight/motivational videos. Experience with networked data base and server operation and maintenance. Work experience that demonstrates working knowledge of electronic graphic design and use, as well as the use of special visual techniques consistent with industry standards. Experience with strategy video situations, formations and terminology, and NCAA and Pac-12 video exchange rules.
