Coordinator of Events and Hospitality
Washington State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is accepting applications for the position of Coordinator of Events and Hospitality. This position is responsible for serving as the Cougar Athletic Fund's events and hospitality coordinator; provides leadership and planning for events and activities related to fundraising strategies and targets; and acts as a liaison with Cougar Clubs and volunteer groups. This position is also responsible for the acquisition of all event-related sponsorships.
Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience, which includes six (6) months of full-time experience in marketing, gift solicitation or public contact work with evidence of ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively orally and in writing and organize and execute assignments. A Master's degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. This position will be required to work evenings and weekends work, including occasional travel. Must be able to obtain and maintain valid unrestricted driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications: Fundraising event coordination and execution experience. Experience working within an intercollegiate athletics department. Evidence of ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and constituents. Work experience that demonstrated successful written communication, time management, and organizational skills. Work experience that demonstrates strong interpersonal and public speaking skills. Work experience that demonstrates ability to successfully develop and manage budgets. Experience developing sponsorships and marketing events. Strong computer background with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and database systems.
