Strength and Conditioning Coach
Washington State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is accepting applications for the position of Strength and Conditioning Coach (Strength and Conditioning Specialist). The Strength and Conditioning Coach is Responsible for assisting with all facets of the varsity weight room and supervising the strength and conditioning training of assigned team(s). Serves as head strength coach for assigned sports. Develops and implement Sports Performance Plans for assigned sports. Provide individual instruction, supervision, and motivation to all student-athletes in their training programs. This position also maintains testing database for each assigned student athlete, provides evaluation of student strength coaches to the Director of Strength and Conditioning and perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science or related field and two (2) years of experience in strength and conditioning training of intercollegiate athletes. Positions require CSCS or SCCC certification.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in education or science area. SCCC certification. Varied sport and institutional experience. Experience in Division I Intercollegiate Athletics. Work experience that demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations. Experience that demonstrates a professional philosophy that supports student-athlete welfare and is in compliance with department, state, and NCAA rules. Work experience that demonstrates knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, E-mail and computer generated lifting programs.
