FRESHMAN (1996-97): Indoor - Started season with pr in 55m dash of 7.19i at EWU Early Bird Open (1/18/97, Cheney)...400m pr of 57.77 was third-place finish at Idaho Scoring Meet (2/7/97, Moscow)...scored fifth in 200m at Mountain Pacific Sports Federation meet but ran pr of 24.50i in prelims (2/21/97, Reno)...was seventh in 55m at MPSF...Outdoor - Solid marks in sprints...11.80w was second in 100m at Cal Poly Invitational (3/15/97, San Luis Obispo), third-fastest time in school records...flew at 24.20 in the 200m at the Modesto Relays (5/10/97, Modesto) with fourth best time in WSU standings...400m time of 53.90 (second on WSU's all-time list) came in Pac-10 meet prelims but final was slower at 57.50 for eighth...24.33 time in 200m was fifth at conference meet...ran second leg of school record 400m relay 44.97 (4/5/97, Pullman).
