COUGAR INDOOR TEAM SCORING MEET
The Cougar Indoor Team Scoring meet is set for Friday and Saturday, Jan. 21-22, in the Washington State Indoor Track Facility...teams from Idaho, Utah State, and Montana join Washington State...two-day meet includes men's heptathlon and women's pentathlon...team scoring will be 5-3-1 for individual events and 5-0 for relays...Friday's events includes all five women's pentathlon events, the first four men's heptathlon events, both men's and women's weight throws, and the men's long jump and pole vault...action gets underway at 2:30 p.m...remaining events begin Saturday at 9 a.m...spectators are admitted free of charge...free parking is available in Beasley Coliseum Yellow lot...complete results will be posted at www.wsucougars.com, following the meet's completion.
Women's pentathlon consists of five events all contested on the same day: 60m hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump and 800m run...men's heptathlon is comprised of seven events, split over two days: 60m dash, long jump, shot put, high jump, 60m hurdles, pole vault, and 1000m run.
ANDERSON ON BOWERMAN LIST
WSU senior Jeshua Anderson (Woodland Hills, Calif.) is one of 10 male collegiate track and field athletes named to the official preseason watch list for the 2011 awarding of The Bowerman as selected by The Bowerman Men's Watch Committee, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Jan. 12...the Bowerman is an award bestowed to the nation's top collegiate men's and women's track and field athlete each year at the USTFCCCA annual convention in December...the Bowerman is named in honor of track and field pioneer Bill Bowerman, who served the sport of track and field in numerous ways, including his leadership in the USTFCCCA's predecessor organization, the National Collegiate Track Coaches Association, and his contributions to NCAA track and field and the running community as a whole...initial awards given in 2009...complete 2011 Watch List for men and women is at www.thebowerman.org.
