Women's Golf Earns Top-10 Finish in Opening Tournament

Pullman, Wash. -

CORVALLIS, Ore. -In a field of 17 teams competing on day two in the Salbasgeon Suites Invitational, WSU finished eighth with two Cougars tallying scores in the top 25. The story of the tournament for WSU was sophomore Amy Eneroth leading the cougars in scoring for three consecutive rounds finishing in a tie for third, snatching the sixth top-10 finish of her career as a Cougar.

Eneroth led the Cougars in the final round shooting a 1-under 71 propelling her to a tie for third overall in the tournament. Junior Brooke Henderson managed to grab her third career top-25 finish, as she shot a 3-over 75 to tangle herself in a tie for 22nd.

Newcomer Diana Hong finished just out of the top 25 after a third round 78 put her in a tie for 29th place, while junior Tracy Broders who is no stranger to the Trysting Tree Golf Club ended in a tie for 52nd. Rounding out the Cougar contingent was redshirt freshman Mandy Parsons who was playing in her first tournament as a Cougar. Parsons finished the season opener tied for 78th.

The women will return to action at the Buffalo Invitational in Broomfield, Colo.., Oct. 2.
