PULLMAN, Wash. - The Washington State University Track and Field throwers held their Fifth Annual Car Wash Saturday, Sept. 23, and raised $935 in cash and $150 worth of diapers for donation to the Community Action Center in Pullman.
In the past five years, the Cougar throwers have washed cars and raised over $6,100 to donate to local community members in need. Previous car washes have raised money for cancer patients and a transplant recipient. This is the first year the donations have benefited the Community Action Center.
"The Cougar throwers are grateful to be able to rely on the community members for their participation through donations," Cougar Associate Track & Field Coach Debra Farwell said. "Thanks also go to the Pullman Bank of America and the Pullman Chevron Gas Station for their donations of the location and water for the car wash."
