OJAI, Calif. - The Washington State women's tennis team continued play today at the Pacific-10 Conference tournament. Andjela Kankaras is the remaining player for the Cougars, advancing to the Invitational semifinal Saturday afternoon.
Kankaras advanced to the semifinal round of the Invitational singles bracket with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Morgan Thomas of UCLA in the quarterfinals. She will face California's Alice Duranteau at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
In doubles Championship action, Elisabeth Fournier and Liudmila Vasilieva fell to Kristie Ahn and Nicole Gibbs of Stanford 8-0. Kankaras and Olga Musilovich lost to No. 5 Kaitlyn Christian and Maria Sanchez of USC 8-5.
In the Invitational doubles draw, Ksenia Googe and Erin Troedson outlasted Elizabeth Ecker of Stanford and Vanja Radunovic of Washington 9-8 (4). Googe and Troedson were then eliminated by Lyndsay Kinstler and Danielle Lao of USC 8-1 in the quarterfinals.
Action continues tomorrow morning in Ojai, Calif.
