PULLMAN, Wash. - Jessica Ottmar, who captured Olympic League co-most valuable player honors while averaging better than 20 points per game last season has signed a national letter of intent to attend Washington State University next fall, new Cougar head coach Jenny Przekwas confirmed this week.

"We are very fortunate to have signed a player of Jessica's abilities at this late date, Przekwas said. "She is a very good athlete and has a tremendous amount of potential."

Ottmar and fellow Cougar recruit Kelley Berglund from Port Angeles (signed in the fall) were named the most valuable players in the Olympic League. Ottmar averaged 20.3 points and eight rebounds in leading her club to a 13-9 finish. At the end of the season she was named one of the Bremerton Sun's Fab Five players after leading the Cougars in both scoring and rebounding.

The newest Cougar recruit, whose father Steve Ottmar graduated from WSU in 1975, earned three varsity letters each in basketball and fast pitch softball, where she played first base. She also was captain of coach Denise Baxter's hoop club during her junior and senior seasons.
