WSU Alum Trio to Compete at World T&F Championships

DAEGU, Korea -- Washington State University has three alumni competing at the IAAF World Championships in Athletics, being contested in Daegu, Korea, August 27 through September 4.

Intermediate hurdler Jeshua Anderson, the reigning USA champion, will battle defending World Champion Kerron Clement along with the two men Anderson edged at the tape in Eugene at the USA meet, Bershawn Jackson and Angelo Taylor. Distance runner Bernard Lagat, a member of the WSU Athletic Hall of Fame, will battle the world leader in time at 12:53.11, Mo Farah from Great Britain, and possibly defending 5k and 10k World Champion Kenenisa Bekele from Ethiopia. Ebba Jungmark, competing for Sweden, was the 2008 NCAA Indoor high jump champion while at WSU and has a personal best clearance height of 6-feet, 5 inches (1.95m), achieved at the 2011 European Indoor Championships where she won the bronze medal.
