Two Cougars Sit in the Top-10 After the First Round of Pinehurst Challenge

PINEHURST, N.C. - Washington State All-American Anastasia Kostina and freshman Amy Eneroth sit in the top-10 after completing the first round at the Pinehurst Challenge, held at the par-72, 5,954 yard No.8 Pinehurst Golf Course, March 12.

After the first round of 18, the WSU women's golf team was led by Kostina, who shot a 75 (+3) and sits just three shots out of the lead. The Nakhabino, Russia native finished the day knotted in a three-way tie for fourth. Resting just one-shot behind Kostina, Eneroth currently finds herself in the middle of a ten-way tie for seventh.

Heading into the second round, freshman Jessica Black sits in a tie for 58th, while teammates Brooke Henderson and Heather O'Leary, who is competing as an individual, sit in a tie for 60th. Tracy Broders finished the first round in a tie for 68th to round out the Cougar contingent.

As a team, the Cougars shot a 311 (+23) in the tournament's opening round, knotting them in a tie for sixth and sit just nine shots out of the lead. The second round of the Pinehurst Challenge will continue Monday.
