PULLMAN, Wash. -- - Washington State University head football coach Mike Price, who was rumored earlier this week to be in contention for the same position at Arizona, says his only goal right now is to continue rebuilding the Cougar football program.
"Now is the time to jump on the Cougar bandwagon, not off," Price said from Los Angeles, where he is visiting football recruits. "My only goals right now are to recruit the best players to attend WSU next year and to work with the players now in school, helping them get ready for next year.
"I never considered the Arizona job when it was open and no one from Arizona approached me about taking the position," the 12-year Cougar head coach said. "I think the only reason the Arizona rumors began surfacing recently is Jim Livengood hired me when he was athletic director at Washington State and now he is the AD at Arizona."
"My goal is to continue to rebuild the football program at Washington State," Price said. "This is not a time to look elsewhere, it is a time to direct all our efforts in making this program better."
