CRESWELL, Ore. - Washington State All-American Anastasia Kostina sits with freshmen Jessica Black and Amy Eneroth in the top-15 after completing the first day of competition at the Duck Invitational, held at the par-72, 6,191 yard Emerald Valley Golf Course, March 27.

While a frost delay slowed the start of the tournament, darkness became an issue later on in the day, as it postponed the end of the second round with approximately four holes left. The remaining holes will be completed at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, followed by the third and final round.

Kostina, the Cougars sole senior, lead the pack as she fired an opening round score of 71 (-1) to finish the day in a tie for second, just one shot out of the lead. Not far behind the All-American are freshman teammates Jessica Black and Amy Eneroth, who etched their way into the top 15. Black shot a first round score of 75 (+3) to sit in a four-way tie for sixth, while Eneroth fired a 77 (+5) and is knotted at 14th.

As a team, the Cougars opened the tournament shooting 306 (+18) on the day, putting them in sole possession of second place. The Cougars finished the first day 12 shots ahead of host team Oregon (No. 34), and are just six shots shy of the lead.

Heading into the second round, sophomore Tracy Broders sits in a tie for 50th, while freshman Haley Parsons made her Cougar debut to finish the first round tied at 64th.
