WSU QUOTES

WSU Head Coach Bill Doba
On the game...

"We're happy to have a win. I think it was just the perfect game. They scored, we scored. Nobody got embarrassed. I thought Coach Akey's team played very well."

Of Idaho quarterback Nathan Enderle...
"I'm glad we're not playing him anymore. He is a redshirt freshman. If you get some receivers for him on the outside he is going to be pretty good. I thought he threw the ball extremely well and they gave him good protection."

On the defense...
"We finally just settled down and decided to play base defense and just let our kids play. We tried some new things, a few different things early in the game. Some different types of pressures and we just didn't cover well enough."

WSU Quarterback Alex Brink
On the game...

"We executed pretty well offensively. I don't think we were as sharp as we were last week. We had some uncharacteristic penalties, missed throws, dropped passes, things like that that we don't usually have. I definitely think going into next week well need to play a little bit better."

On Michael Bumpus...
"For me, being with Bump for a while, I would like to see him get into the end zone more, definitely. But when I play I'm not looking to get guys the ball. The defense usually dictates where we go with the ball."

WSU Wide Receiver Michael Bumpus
On the game...

"A win is always good. We still found some things we need to work on. That's why you play these preseason games so you can fine tune things before you go into the Pac-10."

On scoring two touchdowns...
"It's always good when I get in the end zone. I don't go there too much. Tonight was just my night, like it could be any other night for our receivers in this offense. Any Saturday you don't know who's going to have the big game."

IDAHO QUOTES

Vandal Head Coach Robb Akey
On the game...

"I'm disappointed on the way things turned out. I felt like things were going well and we were trying to limit some big plays by their offense and we didn't do a good enough job of that tonight. "

"I'm also disappointed we didn't execute some things too well. We lost leverage in coverage and lost leverage in the running game. The way we started the football game, we were getting after it and it was a wild football game for a while and things were flowing. We still need to respond to adversity.

On return to Martin Stadium...
It was different standing over there on the other sideline but that was when I came into the stadium. When you're coaching the game and focused it was something I was looking forward to but I just wish we would have finished a little bit better.

Vandal Linebacker David Vobora On Alex Brink... "We knew coming in that Alex Brink and those receivers were potent....You can cover four guys but he'll find that fifth."

Vandal Running Back Deonte Jackson
On the game...

"We played a hard fought game. It was a battle as everyone has seen. It wasn't just a run over, but we didn't win tonight, unfortunately. We would have liked to come out on top. We had things going for us at the beginning. We just had a little trouble keeping that ball rolling. But we are going to keep our head up and keep pushing towards the next game."

On the change at halftime...
"I wouldn't say there was a difference; I would say we believed from the first quarter to the fourth quarter. I don't think anyone on the team stopped believing. We didn't have the plays we needed them."
