Cougars Sit in Eighth After Two Rounds of Kent Youel Invitational

KAPOLEI, Hawai'i. - The Washington State women's golf team sits in eighth place after the first two rounds of the Kent Youel Invitational, Tuesday.

Led by junior Jessica Black, the Cougars fired a two-round total of 622 and are only seven stokes from cracking the top five on the par-72, 6,150-yard Kapolei Golf Course.

The women are facing another strong field which includes seven teams, including the Cougars (No. 47), ranked among the top 50 according to the latest Golfweek polls.

Black sits in a tie for 24th after shooting a team leading total of 153 during the first two rounds. Junior Amy Eneroth is close behind carding a 154 and sits in a tie for 31st. Eneroth's second round score of 74 (+2), the lowest for the Cougar squad, keeps her in contention heading into the final day of play.

Sophomore Diana Hong and senior Brooke Henderson both carded two-round totals of 158 and freshman Allison Travis finished with 165 to round out the Cougar contingent.

The women look to remain in the top 10 as third round action begins with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m., Wednesday.
