COUGAR TRACK & FIELD AT BERKELEY & STANFORD MEETS: The competition begins early this week for the Washington State University men's decathletes - Justin Chambers, Rickey Moody and Kyle Schauble - as they travel to Berkeley to compete at the Cal Multi-Event, Wednesday and Thursday, March 28-29, at Edwards Stadium/Goldman Field...selected members of the Cougar track and field teams will compete this weekend at the 2007 Nike Stanford Track & Field Invitational at Cobb Track and Angell Field on the Stanford campus...the Cougar throwers will take the weekend off of competition after having improved on NCAA Regional Qualifying marks last weekend at the Trojan Invite...results will be posted on the WSU Athletics website, www.wsucougars.com, when available after competition concludes...live results are available for the Stanford Invite at http://www.sml1.com/recordtiming/stanford/stanford_invite07/.

Diana Pickler BREAKS SCHOOL HURDLES RECORD: Senior heptathlete, four-time All-American and co-captain Diana Pickler had a stellar meet at the Trojan Invitational...she won the high jump with a personal-best and NCAA RQ height of 5-10 3/4 (1.80m), finished second in the 100m hurdles with a school record and NCAA RQ time of 13.42 seconds, ran a PR time in the 200m of 24.16 (5th), and ran the third-leg of the 4x100m relay squad to a fourth-place time of 45.88...Pickler's hurdles time surpassed Agneta Rosenblad's 2001 time of 13.48 seconds run in Berkeley, to claim the WSU record...at the Trojan Invite, five WSU track and field competitors reached NCAA Regional Qualifying marks and six more improved their NCAA RQ marks.

NCAA REGIONAL QUALIFYING: The goal for the WSU competitors in the outdoor season is to reach NCAA Regional Qualifying marks...the top-five individual finishers from each regional event automatically advance to the NCAA Championships, June 6-9, at Sacramento...the only events that still have national provisional and automatic national qualifying marks are the heptathlon and decathlon, and the 10,000m races.
