PULLMAN, Wash. - Senior Lorena Arias received the Washington State tennis team's most valuable player award at the program's banquet, May 6. The award highlighted the annual postseason event.
Arias led the Cougars with 22 singles victories in 2003-04. The Mexico City, Mexico native contributed to 16 doubles triumphs and led WSU with 38 combined wins.
Arias and junior Orsolya Sallai were both awarded the team's strength and conditioning award for outstanding work in the weight room. Both student-athletes were selected by WSU Strength and Conditioning Coach Kerri Conger.
Senior Zorana Roganovic was the recipient of the team's academic award. The Novi Sad, Yugoslavia native posted a 3.71 grade point average in international business.
Junior Nora Gaal won the WSU coach's award for giving maximum effort during practices and matches and for having a positive attitude at all times on and off the court.
