Cougars Close Out Fall Fourth at San Diego

SANTEE, Calif. - The Washington State University Women's golf team ended the fall season with a bang. The Cougar women finished fourth of 15 teams, their best finish this fall at the San Diego State Fall Classic Nov. 15-17.

Three Cougar women finished the three-day tournament in the top 20. Senior Stefanie Coleman captured her third top 10 finish of her career at Washington State. The Tacoma, Wash. native ended the tournament with a sixth place finish and a 54-hole total of 233.

Freshman Tasha Browner also captured a top 10 finish with a 236 on her scorecard. Browner's top 10 finish is the first of her career and her best finish this season. Jenny Ballou, a redshirt sophomore from Portland, Ore. finished the San Diego State Fall Classic in a three-way tie for 15th place. This is Ballou's third top 25 finish of her career and her best overall finish for the 1998 fall season.

Tournament host San Diego State claimed the tournament title with a final score of 927. Texas-El Paso's Kristen MaClaren and Sarah Worden tied for first place in the individual category with a three-round total of 226.

The San Diego State Fall Classic concludes the women's 1998 fall season. The Cougar women will resume play in March 1999.
