SELECTED COUGARS TRAVEL TO IOWA FOR NCAA QUALIFIER
The Washington State track and field men's 4x400m relay team of Greg Hornsby, Brandon Dawson, Jacob Sealby and Jeshua Anderson and women's 800m runner Anna Layman will travel to Ames, Iowa, for the March 5 NCAA Qualifier Meet...in 2009 WSU 4x400m relay qualified for NCAA Indoor Champ at same meet - finished eighth at NCAAs...Live Results will be available at the Iowa State website (www.cyclones.com)...WSU's results will be posted at www.wsucougars.com, when available.
ABOUT THE IOWA STATE INDOOR TRACK FACILITY
The Lied Recreation-Athletic Facility includes a 300m track with eight 42-inch lanes, making it the largest and according to the Iowa State website, one of the fastest indoor surfaces in the world...Mondo track surface wtih long straightaways and sweeping curves.
ABOUT THE COUGAR MEN'S 4X400M RELAY TEAM
The WSU men's 4x400m relay team has a member from every eligibility class...sophomore Greg Hornsby (Moreno Valley, Calif.) runs the lead leg...finished third in 60m dash and sixth in 200m dash at MPSF Championships...junior Brandon Dawson (Fairfield, Calif.) was the NorCal 400m JC champion with PR of 46.96...Dawson transfered to WSU in January 2011...finished seventh in the 400m at MPSF... freshman Jacob Sealby (Wenatchee, Wash.) joined the track team in January after spending the fall as a redshirt linebacker on the Cougar football team...ran an indoor PR time of 49.05 for 15th in the 400m at MPSF...senior Jeshua Anderson (Woodland Hills, Calif.) is a four-time All-American including an indoor All-America certificate from 2009 when the Cougars' 4x400m relay placed eighth (3:06.74i).
ABOUT Anna Layman, 800m
Senior Anna Layman (Spokane Valley, Wash.) is a two-time All-American with an indoor PR time of 2:06.86i (2010)...at the MPSF Championships, Layman was tripped and tumbled to the track on the opening turn of the women's 800m race but the race continued without a restart, leaving Layman without a time...on MPSF second place DMR squad that ran time of 11:18.14 seconds, second-best time in WSU women's history.
