PACIFIC-10 CONFERENCE OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- Pacific-10 Conference outdoor track and field athlete of the week honors for the week of May 5-11:
MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD: Santiago Lorenzo, OREGON. Lorenzo captured his second Pac-10 Decathlon title by 178 points, scoring 7,564 points. He placed in the top three in seven of the 10 events last weekend on the USC campus in Los Angeles. Lorenzo is a senior from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD: Ellannee Richardson, WASHINGTON STATE. Richardson won her third consecutive Pac-10 Heptathlon title. Her point total of 5,766 was 247 points better than her nearest competitor. She joins former Stanford heptathlete Tracye Lawyer (1997-99) as the only three-time winners of the event. Richardson is a senior from Gladstone, Ore.
