WASHINGTON STATE TEAMS TO COMPETE AT NCAA TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS: Washington State University will be represented by seven women and nine men competing at the Men's 87th and Women's 27th Annual NCAA Div. I Outdoor Track & Field Championships June 11-14, at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa...four days of competition will showcase action from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Central Time except Saturday when events will be staged from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. CT...team scoring for all events is 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1...live results can be obtained at the NCAA website, www.ncaasports.com.

TV COVERAGE OF 2008 NCAA TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS: The 2008 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships will feature 5 hours of live television coverage...CBS College Sports Network (formerly CSTV) will broadcast three hours of competition (5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Pacific Time) Friday, June 13...CBS will air 2 hours of live coverage from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. PT Saturday, June 14, the final day of the four-day collegiate championships.

ABOUT THE COUGAR COACHES: Head coach Rick Sloan is in his 35th season with the Cougar track program; 14th year as a head coach, 13th year as mentor to the combined men's and women's program...he is joined by associate coach Debra Farwell, and assistant coaches Jason Drake (Head Coach Cross Country), Mark Macdonald, Ellannee Richardson and Matt McGee...former WSU All-American heptathlete Diana Pickler is a volunteer assistant coach this season along with Bob Frey and Luan Weekes.

WAZZU TRACK & FIELD AMONG NATIONAL LEADERS: The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) top 25 team polls are posted weekly at www.ustfccca.com...in the June 4 USTFCCCA poll, the WSU men's team is ranked 21st and the women's team is 34th...LSU's men and women are ranked No. 1...Track & Field News produces a formchart for NCAA Div. I Men's and Women's teams and a top 10 for each event...as of May 21, the WSU women's team is ranked tied for 32nd while WSU men are tied at 33rd...individuals receiving top 10 recognition: Ebba Jungmark (3rd, women's high jump), Sara Trané (7th, women's steeplechase), McKenzie Garberg (10th, women's discus), Jeshua Anderson (3rd, men's 400m hurdles), and Jon Jeffreys (6th, men's javelin).

RETURNING TO NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS: Ebba Jungmark won the 2008 NCAA Indoor high jump title and Trent Arrivey competed but did not place...Cougs with NCAA Outdoor experience includes McKenzie Garberg (2007 discus All-America), Rickey Moody (2007 long jump), and Jon Jeffreys (2006, 2007 javelin).
