Anastasia Kostina Tied For 14 After Two Rounds At Pacific-10 Championships

SOMIS, Calif. - The Washington State women's golf team was led by the performance of Anastasia Kostina, who is tied for 14th after the second round of the Pacific-10 Conference Championships at the par 72, 6,405 yard Saticoy Country Club, Tuesday.

Kostina entered the second round in an eight-way tie for 25th, but after a 4-over-76, she moved up 11 spots on the leader board after completing 36 holes. All-American Kim Welch knocked two strokes off of her first round score and sits in a tie for 27th at the end of 36 holes.

As a team, the Cougars shot a 315 during the second round, bettering Monday's score of 334 by 19 strokes. The Cougs moved up to ninth place overall, 17 shots ahead of Oregon State.

Maria Kostina improved her score by 12 strokes from first round, moving her up nine spots to tie for 41st. Heather O'Leary, who is competing as an individual, shot a personal best of 78 and sits in 46th place.

Jay-Lee Longbottom sits in 51st, while Stephanie Parsley improved her score by 10 strokes and is in 56th place to round out the Cougar contingent.

The final round of the Pac-10 Championship will begin at 8:30 a.m., Wednesday.
