SPOKANE, Wash. -- Washington State track and field competitors produced several victories at the Washington versus Oregon, Idaho, and Montana III meet at Spokane Falls Community College Saturday.
For the Cougar women's team, seven events were won by current student-athletes and one event was won by a future Cougar. Kendall Mays (redshirt junior, Spokane) won the pole vault with an outdoor lifetime-best height of 12-feet, 11 1/2 inches (3.95m). WSU went one-two-three in the javelin with Marissa Tschida (junior, Missoula) tossing 179-3 (54.64m), Courtney Kirkwood (sophomore, Othello) throwing a season-best 158-0 (48.16m) and Jennifer Hamilton (sophomore, Longview) tossing 149-1 (45.44m).
Cougars winning on the track were Cindy Robinson in the 200m (24.44w), Lisa Egami in the 800m (2:10.88) and WSU signee, Chanel James, running for host SCC, in the 100m (11.92). Claiming field events for WSU were Christine Rice in the high jump (1.68m/5-6), Shaquana Logan in the long jump (5.81m/19-0 3/4), and Ashley Kenney in the discus (47.51m/155-10).
Next weekend the Cougars will compete at the Mt. San Antonio College (SAC) Relays in Walnut, Calif.
