SEATTLE, Wash. -
It isn't often that officials from Washington State University and the University of Washington get together to host a party. But, that's exactly what the two schools are doing to celebrate the 100th football game between the Cougars and Huskies next month.
On Friday, Nov. 23, Husky and Cougar fans are invited to attend a special Apple Cup Rally, presented by Boeing, at Qwest Field Events Center in Seattle. Hosted by the WSU Athletic Department, the UW Athletic Department, the WSU Alumni Association and the UW Alumni Association, the event is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. and will feature coaches, players, bands and cheerleaders from each team.
Advance tickets to the Apple Cup Rally, which includes a special barbecue buffet of various traditional tailgate foods are $20 for adults and $10 for children ages 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased online through both schools' alumni association. They are also available at the door on the day of the event for a slighly higher price.
The Apple Cup Rally is being billed as a fun, family-friendly event co-hosted by the two schools to celebrate 100 years of sportsmanship and rivalry between the Washington State Cougars and the Washington Huskies. The rally tailgate barbecue will focus on great Apple Cup moments of the past, the current teams and a look into the future.
Tickets to the Apple Cup game, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 24 can be purchased through the Husky Ticket Office by calling 206/543-2200 or via the internet by clicking here.
