PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State Head Women's Basketball Coach Sherri Murrell announced the hiring of Scott Moore as the director of basketball operations to the program, Monday.
This will not be Moore's first time that he is connected with the program. A student at Washington State from 2000-04, Moore served as a student manager with the team for three seasons (2001-04).
"I know in Scott we are getting a tireless worker with a tremendous knowledge of our program and a bright basketball mind," said Murrell. "The opportunity to bring him back in the Cougar family is a great feeling for me and our program."
Moore's primary responsibilities will be to serve as the team's travel coordinator and coordinate video efforts. In addition, Moore, who replaces Sarah Holland, will handle all facility scheduling and arrange community service and promotion engagements for the staff and team.
"I am excited to return to WSU and be the program's director of basketball operations," Moore said. "Across the board, Cougar Athletics sets a standard for excellence and I want to do all I can to help women's basketball be a part of that."
After graduating from WSU with a bachelor's degree in sport management, Moore went up the road to Eastern Washington University to serve a graduate assistant coach with the women's basketball program last season. Moore's responsibilities at EWU included scouting, recruiting, film exchange and camp coordination. EWU finished the 2004-05 campaign with a 16-12 record, advancing to the Big Sky Tournament.
