Final Stats

SEATTLE - Washington State put on a furious second half rally but Washington was able to withstand it and held off the Cougars 64-52, in Pac-10 women's basketball action, Sunday at Alaska Airlines Arena.

April Cook led WSU (5-16, 3-6) with 11 points and Jazmine Perkins added 10 for WSU. Kristi Kigma led Washington (8-10, 3-6) with a game-high 29 points, including a key 3-pointer that snapped a 13-0 Cougar run late in the second half.

WSU held a 13-12 early on but a 9-1 run put the Huskies ahead 22-13 with just over six minutes left in the first half. Washington held the same nine-point advantage at 24-15 with 3:55 remaining, and outscored WSU the rest of the way to extend its lead to 38-22 at the half.

Washington increased its lead to 41-23 in the early stages of the second half but WSU cut its deficit to 11 at 44-33 with an Ireti Amojo 3-pointer at the 12:37 mark. However, the Huskies responded with seven straight points to re-establish its 18-point lead at 51-33 with 10:34 remaining.

But Washington's shooting became frigid and the Huskies did not make a dent in the scoreboard in over seven minutes. In that time, WSU was able to take advantage with a 13-0 run to pull within 51-46. The run was broken by Kigma's trey with 3:16 remaining and sparked a Washington run of 13-6 to end the game.\
