COUGARS CROSS CASCADES FOR CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Washington State University cross country teams travel to Seattle for the Pacific-10 Conference Championships at the Jefferson Park Golf Course Saturday, Oct. 30...women run a 6000m course beginning at 10 a.m. and the men run an 8000m course starting at 11 a.m....results will be posted on wsucougars.com, when available.

ABOUT THE COURSE
Jefferson Park Golf Course in Seattle (4101 Beacon Avenue South, Seattle) is the site of the 2010 Pac-10 Cross Country Championships...Beacon Street splits the golf course in half...Pac-10 Championships race will be on the east section of the golf course...course consists of three relatively flat, grass loops for the women and four loops for men...athletes will race mostly on fairways with a small part of the race course on the rough...parts of the course where the athletes must cross over the golf cart path and a wooded area.

LAST YEAR AT PAC-10 CHAMPIONSHIPS
The WSU men placed 6th (163) and the Cougar women were 10th (251)...top WSU finishers were Mark Moeller (17th), Sam Ahlbeck (26th) and Justin Englund (38th) for the men, and Lisa Egami (24th), Chelsea VanDeBrake (47th). and Amanda Andrews (65th) for the women...Stanford's men and Washington's women were the 2009 team winners.

JULIAN LEADING THE WAY
Second-year Cougar coach Pete Julian came to Washington State in August 2009 after a highly successful coaching stint at Metro State in Denver...the 2010 incoming freshman class is his first fully-recruited class at WSU and one he claims is the most talented in the last two decades...volunteer assistant coach Tim Riley returns for his second season.

"We have trained very hard since the middle of August with this event in mind.
