In other women's basketball news, redshirt sophomore center Jessica Oestreicher will no longer compete with the women's basketball team due to injuries.
"Jessica has been a "warrior" in every sense of the word while dealing with numerous knee surgeries throughout her basketball career," WSU Head Coach June Daugherty said. "Her ability to dedicate herself with 100 percent commitment toward rehabilitation has been outstanding.
"Unfortunately the severity of the injuries and numerous surgeries have taken a toll on her ability to return to playing at the high level that Jess is accustomed to," Daugherty added. "Jessica will continue to be on scholarship while pursuing her degree in communication. She will be assisting with our basketball family as a leader in all areas."
Oestreicher redshirted her sophomore season in 2009-10 after undergoing knee surgery following her freshman season. During the 2008-09 season, Oestreicher played in 18 games, starting three, averaging 2.3 points and 1.3 rebounds a game.
