WSU TRACK & FIELD TEAMS TRAVEL 8 MILES EAST FOR PAIR OF MEETS
The Washington State men's and women's track and field teams travel to the University of Idaho Kibbie-ASUI Activity Center, 8 miles east of the Pullman campus, for a pair of indoor meets this weekend...Friday, Feb. 3, 36 Cougs will compete at the 36th Annual Vandal Indoor...discus throw events are at 11 a.m. but all other field events begin at 5 p.m. and running events begin at 6 p.m...Saturday, Feb. 4, the Runners Soul Open meet begins at 11 a.m. and 39 Cougars are scheduled to compete (see page 2 for athletes and events entered)...the Kibbie facility offers a 290-meter unbanked Mondo surface with 5 lanes on the oval and an 8-lane straightaway...seats 18,000...results will be posted at www.wsucougars.com, following the meet's completion.

ABOUT THE COUGAR COACHES
Head coach Rick Sloan is in his 39th season with the Cougar track program; 18th year as a head coach, 17th year as mentor to the combined men's and women's program...Sloan (decathlon/heptathlon) is joined by associate coach Debra Farwell (throws), head coach for cross country Pete Julian (distance), and assistant coaches Mark Macdonald (hurdles/relays), Ellannee Richardson (sprints/relays) and Matt McGee (jumps)...volunteer coaches include Jeshua Anderson, Tim Riley and Wes McCann.

NCAA DESCENDING ORDER LISTS
The NCAA has automatic qualifying standards for Indoor competition that can be found on the 2012 Indoor Bests Lists posted on the WSU website (www.wsucougars.com)...national descending order lists can be viewed at the United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Track & Field Results Reporting System website (www.tfrrs.org).

COUGARS AMONG THE NATION'S TOP 50
WSU men in the TFRRS top 50 list this week include: Jacob Sealby, 400m (47th); Shawn Swartz, high jump (t-46th); Stephan Scott-Ellis, long jump (16th) and triple jump (6th); Joe Bartlett, shot put (43rd); and Michael Bolligar, heptathlon (48th)...there are currently no WSU women listed.
