PULLMAN, Wash. - Broadcast legend and Washington State University alumnus Keith Jackson will be the featured speaker at WSU Athletics' annual Fall Sports Banquet, Friday, August 25 at the Coeur d'Alene Resort in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

In addition to Jackson, two WSU head coaches will address the group, football's Bill Doba and Jason Drake from cross country. Head coaches Brian Heffernan, volleyball, and Matt Potter, soccer, are unable to attend because their teams will be headed to weekend competition, but both will present video taped messages.

Jackson is known to many as "the voice of college football" for his work with the ABC television network. In 1967, Jackson became part of ABC's coverage of college football and has broadcast the sport for the network until this year, when he announced his retirement in April.

Jackson is a 1954 graduate of Washington State University's Edward R. Murrow School of Communication and began his broadcast career working for campus radio station KWSC. He has been honored with the WSU Alumni Achievement Award and has been inducted into the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame.

The WSU Fall Sports Banquet begins at 5 p.m. and cost to attend is $60 per person. All proceeds support WSU student-athlete scholarships. To register please call Lori Olson at 509-358-7541.
