WASHINGTON STATE QUOTES
WSU Head Coach Tony Bennett
On the game...
"We battled pretty hard on the glass, but the costly ones were the ones that came at the wrong time and the turnovers that came at the wrong time. If you don't have your A-game in this league against teams like Arizona you'll be beat at home, on the road, it doesn't matter. It's too tight of...too good of a league to not play at a high level-not that we don't understand that-we know that and it showed tonight."

On Bayless' 3-point play at 12:54 in the second half...
"Those are the ones (rebounds) you have to come up with. That was momentum..you have to come up with those plays."

On the crowd...
"The crowd was great tonight, they tried their hardest to get us going."

On Bayless scoring all 20 of his points in the second half...
"That was disappointing because when you're on a guy with that ability you can't lose track of him. Derrick lost vision of him and he shot vision-shots. He kind of had his way with us in the second half, Bayless did. That was disappointing because I thought in the first half we did a solid job on him and Daven did a heck of a job on Budinger, guarding him hard. It's hard to beat teams if you lose track of their top players."

On Arizona...
"They're a physical team. They have strong, big, athletic kids and the coaches have done a good job with them. They play hard. "

WSU Forward Caleb Forrest
On tonight's shooting...
"It's rough when you work so hard and you don't convert."

WSU Guard Derrick Low
On tonight's shooting...
"They were good looks and they weren't dropping, that's the way it goes. You just gotta keep shooting....I know I always say that, but it's true."

WSU Guard Taylor Rochestie
On capturing the momentum...
"I felt that a lot of times that we could have brought the game close or when it was close, there were a couple of 50-50 balls that coach talked about. One in particular that it looked like we had a steal, Bayless comes up with it, he gets an and one...we were up three at the time. It's situations like those that really hurt your team when you're trying to get momentum. They got on the offensive glass too, sometimes you play good defense and they get offensive boards and that really deflates the defense. I think they just out-toughed us both times, that played a big role tonight and last time we played them."

Feelings about the rematch...
"We're upset about the game definitely, there's no reason we're not going to be upset. We came out and wanted to win especially against them after they took it to us in Tucson. But we're not disappointed in the season, and that's the kind of picture we're looking at right now. We're looking to the next game and we're playing two teams that beat us on our home court so we have a lot to look forward to. Me personally, and I don't think the other guys feel too down, although we're gonna have to learn a lot from this loss and just move forward."

On Aron Baynes' Play...
"The first time we came out during warm-ups, the first time somebody tried to pass him the ball it got deflected or hit another ball and he had to wait for the ball for about 20 seconds, so I think that's when he got upset. But I think during the game, he just... you know, some of the shots just didn't go down, and maybe coach thought that we'd have better luck with a different match-up. Baynes will be back next game and he'll be ready to go. He's a competitor and we look for him to be a big presence for us, and he's gonna be in the future. It was just maybe a tough game for him, but he'll bounce back, we can count on that."

ARIZONA QUOTES
Arizona Head Coach Kevin O'Neil
On the win...
"We really needed to get a win. We played badly over in Seattle the other night and had a heartbreaking loss to Stanford at home."

"This is a great team. I love their team, I love how they play, I love how Tony coaches. I coached against Dick many years ago when I was at Marquette, so I have great respect for them."

" We were fortunate to come in here, we were focused, we played great defense and we worked hard. We put ourselves in position to win the game and then made some free-throws down the stretch."

"I thought we executed really well at both ends. We have been fighting this injury bug. Nic Wise is still out, so we don't really have a point guard, but we had a lot of guys step up and play a good game tonight to give us a chance."

Arizona Forward Chase Budinger
On his performance...
"All I tried to do tonight was come out with energy. I tried to play hard on the defensive end...just really wanting to get a win. That is all I really thought about...I didn't worry about my shot or anything."

On the significance of this win...
"It was a needed win and we came out and showed this was a needed win. Everybody on the team really wanted this. We all dug deep and we were really focused the last two days preparing for the game. We just played hard on the defensive end."
