PULLMAN, Wash. --- Washington State linemen Rien Long and Derrick Roche were included in CNN/Sports Illustrated's midseason All-Americans list released Thursday.

Long, a junior defensive tackle, has racked up 11.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks. The Anacortes High product was key in the extra period of WSU's 30-27, overtime win over USC Oct. 5, bringing down Trojan ball carriers in the backfield on two-straight plays to force an unsuccessful, 52-yard field goal. Long has also recorded 26 tackles also knocked down a pass.

Roche, a senior offensive guard, has started in 32 games during his WSU career, and been the anchor of a line ravaged by injuries this season. The Kent, Wash., native has helped hold the Cougars' last three opponents to just three sacks on quarterback Jason Gesser, who is battling through an injured rib.

Gesser and junior cornerback Jason David received honorable mention on CNNSI's midseason list. Gesser, a Heisman Trophy candidate, has thrown for 1894 yards and 16 touchdowns through seven games, while David has intercepted a pass in four-straight contests.
