PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) - Maurice Drew had a 1-yard touchdown run in overtime and Drew Olson threw for five scores as No. 12 UCLA came from 21 points down to beat Washington State 44-41 Saturday.
The Bruins (6-0, 3-0 Pacific-10) snapped a four-game WSU win streak and posted their first win in Pullman since 1993.
Olson completed 31 of 45 passes for 338 yards. He connected twice with Marcedes Lewis for TDs. Drew, Marcus Everett and Gavin Ketchum also caught scoring passes from Olson.
Drew rushed 29 times for 115 yards, but the Cougars (3-3, 0-3) only kicked once to the return specialist who led the nation with 33.8 yards per punt return.
Olson hit Everett with a 9-yard scoring pass to tie it 38-38 with 44 seconds remaining.
WSU's Loren Langley hit a 37-yard field goal in overtime to give WSU a 41-38 lead.
When UCLA got the ball, a facemask penalty gave the Bruins the ball on WSU's 5. Drew ran four yards to the WSU 1, then bulled over for the winning score.
UCLA rolled up 516 yards of offense against the Cougars, who had 499 yards. Most of those came from Jerome Harrison, who ran for a career-high 260 yards. The leading rusher in the conference, he had 182 yards at the half.
WSU quarterback Alex Brink started out strong, but was unable to move the team at crucial times in the second half. Brink, who threw six interceptions the last two games, had none against UCLA. He completed 19 of 33 attempts for 169 yards.
Olson connected with Drew for a 45-yard scoring play to climb within 28-21 midway through the third quarter. Justin Medlock cut the Cougars' lead to 38-31 with a 36-yard field goal with about 10 minutes remaining in the game.
Harrison's 21-yard TD run put WSU up 28-7 after Ketchum caught a 21-yard scoring pass from Olson. Olson's 4-yard pass to Lewis just before halftime cut WSU's lead to 28-14.
WSU's Langley hit a career-long 48-yard field goal with 6:20 remaining in the third period to make it 31-21.
UCLA's 6-0 record is the Bruins' best start since going 6-0 to start the 2001 season.
It was the first UCLA victory over WSU since a 49-17 win in Los Angeles in 1998.
