Travis Continues to Lead Cougars at Pac-10 Championships

Eugene, Ore. - The Washington State women's golf remains in ninth place after the second round of the Pacific-10 Conference Championships, Tuesday. The Cougars are only one stroke back of northwest rival Oregon State after posting a 330 (+42) in the second round at the par-72, 6,203-yard Eugene Country Club.

WSU was tied with the Beavers after round one, but held onto ninth as second-ranked Arizona State was disqualified in the second round as two players were unable to continue due to illnesses, dropping the Sun Devils to 10th.

Redshirt junior Allison Travis continues to lead the team with a two-round total of 159 (+15) and hopes to lead the Cougars for the first time this season. Travis' second-round score of 83 (+11) moved her into a tie for 35th.

Freshman Emma Betland closed in on her teammate with a 79 (+7) in the second round, putting her only one stroke back of Travis. Betland currently has a tournament total of 160 (+16) and is currently in a tie for 38th.

Sophomore Kristen Allard and freshman Ellen Park each fired an 84 (+12) in the second round. Allard has a tournament total of 163 (+19) and Park is at 167 (+23).

Freshman Ali Thompson carded an 89 (+17) for a tournament total of 170 (+26), rounding out the Cougars scores.

The tournament will conclude Wednesday (April 21) with tee times starting at 8 a.m.
