Final Score: No. 5/4 UCLA 67, No. 17 Washington State 59

WSU Head Coach Tony Bennett
On the game...
"I think our guys played with the right amount of heart and intensity, the emotion was there. They battled and we knew it was there, that we wouldn't get away with anything but 40 minutes of high level basketball. No trickery, nothing phony will stand up in this game."

About UCLA...
"Going against a team that obviously is elite that played in the Final Four and National Championship, they will not be phased by an early run, big crowd or anything and will continue to play. We have to battle make them earn it. We did that for the most part but there was a little flurry where they went up by nine real quick and that hurt us. No fault to these kids' heart and effort, we played against a high level team."

"I thought we had enough energy to stay in there but we obviously did not. It's disappointing."

WSU Guard Taylor Rochestie
On the 'war-like' nature of the game...
"What we try to do on defense is try and make them take a tough contested shot and that's the same thing they do. They get out there and really extend their defense and make you work and they're a mentally strong team that's going to make you work for the whole 35 seconds. They're not really going to let down. We tried to take advantage and attack them but they definitely have a lot of quickness and bothered a lot of our rhythm."

Letting the game slip away...
"It is disappointing, in the Pac-10 we've got to be ready for every game to come down to the wire just because there are great teams whether you're at home or on the road it's going be tough. I felt we could have done a better job late."

WSU Center Aron Baynes
On guarding Kevin Love...
"He's a good player. He's a big body down there, someone to bang with. There's great big players in the league. It's time to take a step back and focus on the next game.

WSU Forward Robbie Cowgill
On guarding Kevin Love...
"He's good, he's very talented, he's complete. I felt like we did a better job of staying down. I felt like we did a better job as a team. He still made some plays on the glass. He's a good player."

UCLA Coach Ben Howland
On the win...
"What a great win. I was really, really pleased with our team to come into this environment and we knew we would get their best shot."

On WSU...
" They are a really good team and to come into their house, knowing that their back was against the wall after losing two in a row last weekend, to be able to win tonight was huge"

On playing without Luc Richard Mbah a Moute...
"To be without Luc again, it's just incredible to get a win on the road against a really good team, without one of our best players. Hopefully he will be feeling well, and be ready a week from now"

On their defense...
"To hold Low to seven points, it's really a credit to our team defense."

UCLA Center Kevin Love
On the game...
"It was a tough win tonight, they came off two losses at home last week, so we knew they were going to come out firing and throw the ball down low"

On a potential WSU comeback...
"When they hit that three towards the end, I was like 'oh no here we go again'."

On hanging on for the win...
"We continued to hit our free throws, and Darren (Collison) stepped up and hit big ones in the end. So this is definitely a huge win to come in on their home court, with their good fan base... they are very well coached. Any chance to beat a Washington State team is a big win"
