Cougar Women's Basketball to Hold First Practice of 2008-09

PULLMAN, Wash. - Fresh off signing the most heralded recruiting class in school history, Head Coach June Daugherty and the Washington State University women's basketball team open the 2008-09 season with their first official practice Friday (Oct. 17), from 5-7 p.m. in the Physical Education Building (PEB).

WSU will also practice Saturday (Oct. 18) from 8-10 a.m. in PEB. The Cougar women will hold their first scrimmage Friday (Oct. 24) in Beasley Coliseum. A complete first-week practice schedule follows:

Friday, Oct. 17	5-7:30 p.m. (PEB)
Saturday, Oct. 18	8-10 a.m. (PEB)
Sunday, Oct. 19	9-11 a.m. (Beasley)
Monday, Oct. 20	1:30-3:30 p.m. (PEB)
Tuesday, Oct. 21	Off
Wednesday, Oct. 22	1:30-3:30 p.m. (PEB)
Thursday, Oct. 23	1:30-3:30 p.m. (PEB)
Friday, Oct. 24	1:30-3:30 p.m. (Beasley) - SCRIMMAGE

WSU returns nine players from last year's squad, including five players that started 20-or-more games, and added the nation's 16th-ranked recruiting class according to Blue Star Basketball. The recruiting class was also the second-highest ranked group in the Pacific-10 Conference.
