PULLMAN, Wash. - The addition of the center-hung scoreboard in Beasley Coliseum, home of Washington State University men's and women's basketball teams, has been completed and is ready for use in the 2011-12 season. Washington State completed the project in conjunction with Daktronics, Inc. of Brookings, S.D.

"We are excited about the addition of the center-hung scoreboard in Beasley Coliseum," men's head coach Ken Bone said. "We think our fans will really enjoy the scoreboard as it will add a substantial amount to the game-day experience. We sincerely appreciate Bill Moos' continued efforts to enhance the facilities of Cougar basketball".

The new center-hung display features four LED video displays, each measuring 11 feet high by 15 feet wide. With 10 millimeter line spacing, these displays will incorporate clarity and contrast of video images with the capability to present live and recorded video. The displays are also capable of showing custom animations, vivid graphics, up-to-the minute statistics, player highlights and in-game advertising from sponsors.

"The center-hung scoreboard is an amazing addition to Beasley," women's head coach June Daugherty said. "It improves the game atmosphere and provides our fans with something special."

A digital ring display is also part of the center-hung structure and will be able to show a variety of graphics, animations and statistical information. In the arena on the lower level in two corners, integrated message displays have been added as well. The installation also includes a custom audio system and control system upgrades.

In 2008, Daktronics installed an integrated video and sound system at Martin Stadium, home of Cougar football.

The center-hung scoreboard will be used for the first time as the WSU women take the floor to host Seattle Pacific, Saturday, Oct. 29 at 1 p.m. at Beasley Coliseum.
