STANFORD, Calif. - Washington State University women's golfer Jenny Ballou (39-38) is tied for 11th place with a first round score of 77 in the Peg Bernard California Collegiate tournament hosted by nationally ranked Stanford University at the Stanford Golf Club.
Ballou, a redshirt junior from Portland, Ore. is second on the team in averages with 79.9 per round. Sophomore Jennifer Dodd (41-38) ended the first round with a 79 on her scorecard and in a seven-way tie for 25th place.
Nationally ranked Stanford leads the teams with an 18-hole score of 300, followed by Pac-10 school Washington with a team total of 306. Washington State (319) finished day one in 10th place. Stanford's Stephanie Keever leads the individual title race with a three-under-par score of 69.
The Cougar women will complete the final 18-holes tomorrow, April 11.
