Half-milers Run Season-best Times at Mt. SAC Relays

WALNUT, Calif. -- Washington State's Joe Abbott and Anna Layman ran season-best times in their respective 800m races Saturday at the 53rd Annual Mt. SAC Relays at Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Walnut, Calif.

In the men's Olympic Development Elite race, Abbott ran a season-best time of 1:48.95 for third place and in the women's Olympic Development Elite race, Layman ran a season-best time of 2:06.12 for fifth place.

Holly Parent, the only other Cougars competing at Walnut Saturday, finished tied for seventh place in the women's Invitational Elite high jump after clearing 5-feet, 8 3/4 inches (1.75m).

At the Long Beach State Beach Invitational in Cerritos Saturday, Greg Hornsby ran a 100m dash time of 10.80. Shaquana Logan finished third in the women's 100m hurdles in a time of 14.06 while Morgan Clem ran her first 100m hurdles of her collegiate career in a time of 14.29 (9th) and Jalissa Williams' 14.45 time was a season-best (15th). Veronica Elseroad-Wall improved her season-best 400m hurdles time of 1:00.69 run Friday at Mt. SAC to a time of 1:00.51 for fourth place in Cerritos.

Washington State hosts the 11th Annual Cougar Invitational Meet April 23, at Mooberry Track.
