PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University and the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena have been selected to host one of four regional sites for the 2013 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship, the NCAA announced Monday. This marks the third time in a six-year span the Cougars have hosted a women's regional, having successfully staged events in 2008 and 2011.

"Washington State University and the Spokane Arena have successfully hosted several NCAA championship events in the past and we are honored to serve as hosts for the 2013 NCAA Women's Regional," WSU Senior Associate Director of Athletics Randy L. Buhr said. "We have tremendous partners in the Spokane community who take great pride in hosting these events and look forward to another great regional in 2013."

"Partnering with Washington State University to host incredible NCAA events is a real privilege," said Matt Gibson, General Manager of the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena. "We are very excited to open our doors to the 2013 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Spokane Regional. Our staff and community are more than ready to make this event another great success."

In addition to Spokane the remaining three regional sites are Norfolk, Va. (Old Dominion); Oklahoma City, Okla. (host institution TBD) and Trenton, N.J. (Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference).
