PULLMAN, Wash. -- Junior Framecio Little (Anderson, S.C.) tied his season-high with 16 points to lead Washington State to a 57-53 win over Oregon State, Saturday night at Friel Court.

The win gave the Cougars a weekend sweep of the Oregon schools and marked the first time since January 9 and 11, 1997 that WSU (11-12, 4-9) has won back-to-back Pacific-10 Conference games.

The victory also improved the Cougars record to 9-2 at Friel Court, the first time WSU has won nine game in Pullman since the 1995-96 campaign.

WSU led 54-53 with 16 seconds left when Little hit 1-of-2 at the line to put the Cougars up 55-53. Oregon State's Deaunra Tanner missed a layup that would have tied the game with eight ticks left and WSU junior J Locklier (Rock Hill, S.C.) grabbed the rebound.

Locklier converted both free throws to seal the victory and drop the Beavers to 9-16, 3-10. The win moved WSU into a tie for sixth place with Oregon in the Pac-10.

"This, like all of our wins is big," WSU head coach Paul Graham said. "This is another step in the right direction for us to try to get this program where we want it."

The Cougars led by as many as 12 in the first half and took a 29-22 lead at the half led by Little's nine points. Oregon State battled back to take its first lead of the game, 48-47, on a pair of free throws by Jason Heide, who led all scorers with 18 points, with 3:47 to play.

The Beavers increased the lead to 50-47 on a layup by Heide before freshman Marcus Moore (Inglewood, Calif.) made a pair of free throws and Locklier added 1-of-2 at the line to tie the game 50-50 at the 1:41 mark.

A layup by Moore put the Cougars on top 52-50 and Little finished a 7-0 run with 27 seconds remaining.

WSU plays at second-ranked Stanford next Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
